Kevin looked out towards the choppy waters letting his body undulate with the movement of the boat. He shook his head vigorously, in an effort to both get his eyebrows out of his face and as a way to surreptitiously eye Elvira. Byron scratched him under his chin and called him a “good boy,” simultaneously scritching Elvira eliciting dumb purrs from her stupid face. Kevin felt the side eye, but he wouldn’t give her the satisfaction of looking her way.

With a heavy sigh, Kevin made his move. Sinking deeper into a fake side sleeper position, Kevin banked on Elvira pouncing on his supposed vulnerability. With a swift back kick, he sent Elvira off the side of the boat. Jumping up in feigned surprise, he barked a salty salute.

Here’s a very terrible accompanying comic.
